Bear Paw Creative hosts hands-on art classes and camps, mobile pop-ups, and studio residencies across the Greater Charleston area. Led by commercial design veterans, our instructional programs blend authentic trade techniques—from linocut block printing and hand lettering to indie publishing—with a calm, neuro-inclusive environment where everyone belongs.
Whether we’re popping up at a local venue or running a 10-week studio residency, we ditch screen fatigue and rigid academic rubrics in favor of tactile tools and real mentorship. Our tables welcome creators of all speeds, abilities, and backgrounds—offering a space where kids, teens, and adults can build tangible skills, recharge their decision-weary minds, and walk away with genuine creative confidence.

The Vibe: Part design laboratory, part indie press room. A 2-hour morning block where young makers step away from screens to carve linoleum, hand-letter posters, fold zines, and print upcycled textiles. We love both ends of the creative spectrum: the thoughtful craftsman who takes their time with intricate linework, and the prolific maker who generates ideas like wildfire.

Our Bear Paw Creative Summer Camps brought young artists and makers together at Tin Roof in West Ashley for high-energy sessions in relief printmaking, hand-carved stamp making, DIY zine publishing, screen printing, and graffiti. We carved blocks, pulled prints, published indie mini-zines, and explored radical art—all backed by real studio freedom.
